Linux.com recently published an excellent article on The Open Source Process, and what can happen when things interfere with it.

Twice in recent weeks open source projects have surprised me with their lack of openness. In both cases, developers acted or spoke out in such a way as to intentionally push other developers away from their work.

This makes more sense then Anything I have read on the subject. If you are a believer in the Bazaar mentally, I highly suggest that you read the article.

Coming Attractions

Look forward to a full VIDEO review of KDE 4. Many things simply cannot be captured with screenshots alone, and I hope this helps somewhat. I don't know when this will be, but assume very end of August to early September.

The first beta of KDE 4 was release today. Review (with screenshots!) to follow.

Safari for Windows!!!???

I do believe that hell has frozen over. Safari for Windows. I'll just pause to let that sink in. Safari is, in my opinion, one of the better web browsers out there. However, I still do not understand why Apple needs to release Safari for Windows. The second browser wars (IE vs. Firefox) are already in full force, so why do people need Safari for Windows? I would love to hear your feedback, so leave your thoughts in the comments.

iPhone etc.

In other news, G4TV has aquired TWiT. Leo will be moving to Canada as part of the aquisition.

The website has already started the transition, featuring a new Favicon ("" and a new <TITLE> tag ("The G4TWiTTV Netcast Network with Leo Laporte").

Drupal 5.0

Drupal 5.0 has been released today! Go and check it out at http://drupal.org/drupal-5.0! Check out the new features. Drupal 5.0 RC2

Drupal 5.0 RC2 came out yesterday. I encourage you to install it to your webserver if you have one and try it out! Get it from The Drupal 5.0 RC2 Website.

Blogger Beta

I have switched to the new Blogger beta!!!! If something goes wacky with the RSS feeds, I expect it. I've hear of stranger things. The Worst that can probobly happen is all of the posts get re sent through the feed. Leave me a note in the comments if there's another problem.

Math Drupal

I plan on creating a custom distribution of Drupal that has built in support for MathML. I will distribute the package in a later post.
